Art shows hope for peace


THE EXHIBIT – Art for Peace

• Where: Shangri-La Art Gallery, 2801 W. Sam Houston Parkway, Houston, Texas, USA
• When: Feb. 3-14, 2009
• Hours: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday; 12-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday
• Reception: 5 p.m-8 p.m. Feb. 7, 2009 with a welcome by Mohammad Aqil Nadeem, consul general of Pakistan in Houston
• Benefit: Part of the proceeds from Engineer’s exhibit will be donated to Developments in Literacy (DIL), a U.S.-based nonprofit group started by Pakistani-Americans that operates 150 schools, many in isolated villages, serving 15,000 students.

Pakistani artist Jimmy Engineer’s work will be on exhibit at the Shangri-La art gallery,
in Houston, Texas from February 3rd to February 14th 2009

Sadeh  is a mid winter festival celebrated by Zarathushtis. It is popularly known as  Jashan-e Sadeh. In Iran it is the third  largest celebration after  Navrooz  and  Mehrgaan. For some reason, this festival is not celebrated in India.

Zorastrian Parsi/Irani community members who are not registered and are now desirous of registering as General or Donor Member as a Bombay Parsi Punchayet electorate may do so at the earliest.

The prescribed Form may be collected from the Bombay Parsi Punchayet: for General Member the fee is Rs. 10/- plus two passport size photos and for Donor Members the donation is Rs.25,000/- or anything plus thereof and two passport size photos.

The timings are 11.00 a.m. to 1.00p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on working days.
