Imaging the World

At Imaging the World (ITW), we believe that all people deserve the health advantages of modern tools for diagnosing problems. ITW saves lives by providing diagnostic imaging to patients in rural communities around the world.

In collaboration with local governments and healthcare providers, ITW uses a sustainable approach to train community members to capture medical images and transmit them to a network of volunteer imaging specialists for early diagnosis and treatment recommendations. In this way, millions of underserved rural villages gain local access to medical imaging and expert interpretation to screen for common disorders leading to appropriate treatment.

Co-founded in 2007 by Dr. Kristen DeStigter and Dr. Brian Garra, ITW and partners are committed to providing sustainable imaging solutions to help reduce the inequality of the world’s disparate healthcare access. ITW has over 50 active volunteers and over 50 medical student volunteers.
