NBZACT Appeal for Agiary Dadgah
Dear fellow Zarathushtis,
We have received an urgent appeal from the NEW BOMBAY ZOROASTRIAN ASSOCIATION CHARITABLE TRUST, based at Vashi.
They inform that “we are in the process of building an Agiary/Dadgah and a Community Hall, Charitable Dispensary, Old Age Home etc. at Navi Mumbai to meet the religious and Social needs of our ever growing Zarthosti community.”
They have also mentioned that “Please note that the amount of Rs. 63 lakhs has to be paid to CIDCO on or before 30 October 2011. At the most we can try for an extension of 30 days.”

Dear Fellow Zarthosti Humdin,
Subiect: AGIARY/DADGAH at NAVI MUMBAI
On behalf of The New Bombay Zoroastrian Association Charitable Trust, we have to inform you that we are in the process of building an Agiary/Dadgah and a Community Hall, Charitable Dispensary, Old Age Home etc. at Navi Mumbai to meet the religious and Social needs of our ever growing Zarthosti community.
Towards that end we have been recently allotted a plot by CIDCO of 850 sq. metres for the same. The total cost of the plot works out to Rs. 63 lakhs (including Stamp Duty and registration). However, even if we extinguish all our investments and bank deposits, we will have with us Rs. 42 lakhs. The undersigned has already contributed Rs. 20 lakhs plus, The Framji H. B. Settna Legacy Trust through the good offices of Mr. Rustom J. Vakil has contributed Rs. 10 lakhs, The Sir Shapootji Burjorji Broacha Charity Trust through the good offices of Mrs. Katy Mehta has contributed Rs. 1 lakh and the remaining has been contributed by the Zarthosti Residents of Navi Mumbai as well as sundry Zarthosti Humdin from all over the world.
This means we still have a shortfall of Rs. 21 lakhs to pay for the plot. A fellow Humdin has assured us that he will be building an Agiary at his cost and manage and maintain the same provided we give his family name to the Agiary, to which our Trust has agreed.
We therefore appeal to all our Zarthosti Humdin to contribute whatever possible and GIVE TILL IT HURTS so that our DREAM of having an Agiary/Dadgah in Navi Mumbai becomes a REALITY. Please note that no amount of donation is too small for us.
We will be erecting three Marble Tablets showing the names of donors donating Rs. 50,000.00 and above, Rs. 1 lakh and above and Rs. 2 lakhs and above. Our Trust is also willing to name any of the various structures that will come up like Community Halls (two floors), Charitable Dispensary, Public Library, Priests Quarters, Kathi Godown, Old Age Home
etc. as per the wishes of large donors (Rs. 10 lakhs to 15 lakhs and above).
We would appreciate if you give wide publicity to the above matter amongst all your friends and relatives in India and all over the World with a view to collect funds for a very worthy cause.

Cheques in Indian Rupees are to be drawn in favour of New Bombay Zoroastrian Association Charitable Trust and sent to the address given below. Donors are eligible for deduction of 50% from their taxable income under section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act.

Dear Mr. doctor
This is a great idea, I was always longing for this great news. Though leaving in Navi Mumbai now for almost 06 yrs my family never knew of this organisation. We need to surely build up our strength in this part of Mumbai and a pious start will really contribute towards it. Will try my best to contribute whatever possible and would also like to be a part of this organisation.

As it is there are so many agiaris & atash dadgahs in dilapidated condition . EXAMPLE Kalkatta .Surat & other places Shortage of Dastoors , NO maintenance fund etc. :understand difficulties of parsis staying at NEW MUMBAI .Think twice . easy to build but very difficult to maintain.
