    • An Athornan who cannot pronounce Yatha Ahu Vairyo correctly.
Pl. do not spread/circulate incorrect knowledge/information.
Correct pronouciations are are the essence of our prayers because our prayers are based on vibrations theory & that is why they are to be prayed loudly (ofcourse, without disturbing others around).

    • Thank you very much for your timely help may Ahuramazda be with all of us n the credit goes to dasturji soli Dastur to guide us

  • Thank you! I just hope the day comes soon when the prayers are recited in a language we all understand and comprehend. The parroting in an archaic language, however musical and poetic, does little to enhance the understanding of the faith!

    • Gentleman, please put in efforts to understand meanings. They are available. These are mantras which cannot be in common-parlence.
One devots 4/5 years to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree. Please, devote some years to study Zarathushtrianism.

      • Yezdyar Kaoosji

Please understand the purpose of my comments before lecturing me about what you want me to do.

      • Kaoosji, i am sorry that u got offended by my good advise (& not a lecture) given with good intentions. I wonder what offended u ! U have yet not desclosed the purpose of your comment. Pl. do.

      • Mr. Talati, Sorry for the delay in response. I normally do not follow social media very closely, and came across your comment while cleaning up my gmail. My comment is simple. A prayer should be in a language that one understands and uses in communication. For example, the Christian ‘Lord’s Prayer’ is used in as many languages as the Bible has been translated into. Knowing the meaning via study of translations is different from praying what one understands. The current situation places the devotee in either a parrot role pronouncing words they do not understand, or an audience role, listening to a rhytmic tone of words one does not understand in communicative terms. I may add being witness many times to comments that the mobed is racing through words and ‘may ‘ be skipping lines etc. Not a very conducive situation for prayer, that I believe should come both from the heart and the brain. Words should be uttered with meaning. That is my simple position.

  • This is an awesome website. Many thanks to all those who took the efforts for compiling all our Zoroastrian prayers under the same roof. A huge help to those who wish to hear/ download prayers at a click. Also a good, useful reference for our future generations to come.

Do you have a audio recording of Moti Haptan Yasht?

  • For correct pronunciation & meaning of our prayers, refer “Khurdeh Avasta” ba khushm-taavil by Dr. faramroz Sorabji Chiniwalla; first published in 1938.
Correct pronunciation are a must to get proper & 100% effect/benefit of our prayers.
Slight difference in the pronunciation, changes the entire meaning of the word & it’s effect.

  • Request for recording Tir Yazad please. Thanks

  • Dear Yezdi, thanks for the compilation of the Farajyat prayers. Is there a way where we could just click a button for them to automatically load one after the other in order of preference? Please let me know.

This is great information for Parsis everywhere! However, I agree with Mr. Yezdiar Kaoosji, that our prayers do need to be translated in a language that we understand. Merely reciting words, however correctly, & not understanding the meaning is, in my opinion, wasted as our prayers need to be heartfelt & sincere, & that can’t happen without understanding what you are praying. Thank you for your tremendous effort to put out this website where we can access all this information. God Bless your efforts!

  • COOPER ARNAVAZ SOLI

Do we have vanant yasht recital

  • In our prayer books (the big ones) after each prayers, there is a “sar” (summary) which is in plain gujarati to explain what we prayed.

  • Please, where can I find Haptan yasht recital?
