  • I am reading a book: The History of Central Asia. The Age of the Silk Road by Christoph Baumer

  • Many years ago I remember watching A program by Japanese TV following the ancient Silk Road. In one episode, they came upon a deserted town in the Takla Makan desert. There they showed a building which was a fire temple of the Zoroastrian religion. There were recognisable frescos in the walls of priests (Dastoorjis) with face masks, like today, tending a fire in an Aferganyu.
