Jiyo Parsi Launches Jiyo Care with Calendar
Follow these steps to avail of the 3 Jiyo Parsi Care Facilities The objective of the Jiyo Parsi Care Scheme is to encourage couples to have more children and in turn increase the Parsi Population.
Scheme 1: Crèche and Child Care Support – Support to families up to maximum 24000 per month, per child – Available till the child is 8 years old – Payment is for crèche or child care giver expenses
Scheme 2: Senior Citizen Honorarium for Child Care – A capable senior citizen can care for community children – She/ He will get Z3000 as honorarium per child – Applicable up to the child is 10 years old
Scheme 3: Support to couples to help look after Elderly Dependents staying with them – 24000 per month per elder (60 years and above) residing with the couple – Available to couples whose income is below 10 lakhs p.a. – Main aim is to help the couple to either start a family or increase their number of children

BREAK DOWN THE WALL!!!!
We Parsi community people are grateful to the Government of India lead by Hon’ble P.M. Shri Narendra Modi and Minority CommissIon of India for financial as well as moral support to the Jiyo Parsi Scheme in India.
Main objects of the Jiyo Parsi scheme is to arrest the decline in population of the Parsi Zoroastrian Community in India. The Jiyo Parsi Scheme comprises of three components:
Advocacy Component, Health of the Community Component and
Medical Component to promote the cause of reversing the declining trend of Parsi population.
Government of India is allocating funds for each component regularly to Jiyo Parsi organization. This fund should be utilized properly, effectively and transparently for the purpose of which it has been allocated instead of utilizing this fund for publishing calendar.
(1) Jiyo Parsi organization should establish its office at Surat, Mumbai,Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Navsari where majority of Parsi community lives.
(2) They should arrange regular Health check up camps for Parsis including Heart check up, mammography, sonography etc. to avoid serious decease in Parsis.
(3) Group health insurance plans should be registered by Jiyo Parsi organization at each of above cities with majority of Parsi Population and thus they should secure health of Parsi people.
A group health insurance plan provides cover to all the members in a single policy with several advantages over Buying an individual policy, which are:-
– Lower Premium Costs
– Customized Policy
– Cover for all members
– Cashless Claims across Network Hospitals
– Provides Incentive for having affiliation with the group
– Cover From day One of member joining the group.
(4) Parsi charitable hospitals established in above cities with donations received from our ancestors are not in a good conditions for advanced treatment due to lack of fund or further income. So Jiyo Parsi organization should concentrate on this issue also for the revival / updation and proper management of such charitable hospitals for wellbeing of Parsis.
At Surat Tata Trusts is interested for revival of Parsi General Hospital and its proposal has already been submitted by Surat Parsi panchayat to Tata Trusts. We request Jiyo Parsi organization to recommend this proposal and see that this Hospital may revive early and well manage by Tata Trusts in a short time.
At present Jiyo Parsi organization is helping Parsi couples and elderly persons with financial assistance. But only financial assistance will not satisfiy true objects of Jjiyo Parsi Scheme. Neither publishing Parsi calendar nor an advertisements in Parsi newspapers with smiling photo sessions truly work for it.
JIYO PARSI ORGANIZATION CAN PURCHASE GROUP INSURANCE POLICIES FOR ATLEAST ALL PARSIS RESIDING IN 2 TO 3 CITIES OF GUJARAT FROM GOVERNMENT FUND WHICH HAS BEEN UTILIZED FOR PRINTING AND PUBLISHING PARSI CALENDARS AND ADVERTISEMENTS PUBLISHED WITH SMILING PHOTO SESSIONS BY JIYO PARSI ORGANIZATION.
So I humbly requests Honourable Minister, Chairman, vice chairman, members of NCM, Dastoorji and Jiyo Parsi organization to implement above mentioned programmes for truly success of Jiyo Parsi Scheme.

The scheme is aimed at increasing the shrinking population and does not see a good response as most Parsi couples do not aim to have children. It is important to overcome the mindset and make them see reason. Only then there will be a change and they will go for early marriage and early kids,” says Rashna Daruwalla, manager, admissions, Anant National University, adding, “For every 200 new born, there are 800 dead. These figures are equally responsible for the decline.”

WE CAN ARREST DECLINE IN
PARSI POPULATION BY MINIMIZING DEATH RATE SIMULTANEOUSLY MAXIMIZING BIRTH RATES. SO JIYO PARSI ORGANIZATION SHOULD CONSENTRATE ON THE ISSUES RELATED TO GOOD HEALTH OF ALL THE PARSIS WITHOUT ANY AGE BAR.
What is Jiyo Parsi really achieving by granting couples only 24k rupees per child. It’s very good to sing praises about wanting to get youth to marry within but there is zero consideration given to the facts. It is not that our boys are lazy and demotivated but the haughty principles of feminism that have permeated our society! Can you imagine if boys families were to demand dowry from girls families? It would be considered taboo. On the other hand it is perfectly ok for girls to marry out citing that the community’s boys are portrayed as dimwits and paupers with no initiative. This wrong thinking will further cause a deep chasm in an already divided community. The days of compromise are over. It’s more like “my way or highway”. I personally know 3 young gents in their thirties and they tell me the same thing “Pori na bahna che”. Sadly no monetary incentive is going to increase population unless both girls and boys learn to compromise. If women want to be career oriented then they must be prepared to compromise on other issues. But they are trying to have the cake and eat it too. I don’t see any positive outcome from this campaign. Nothing can change a person’s thinking but themselves. Greed and Avarice have no place if one wants the community to unite. Many elders simply talk and worry but with today’s busy lifestyle people tend to put their personal lives off. Very disappointed in the community.
Can anyone state with honesty if this campaign is going to be a success or are we kidsing ourselves because in truth it is a farce? Apologize for negativity but so far I have not heard a single success story!
Very good Jim. You needn’t want to apologize for your true comments. Our community leaders and officialls from Jiyo Parsi organization should accept truth and implement this scheme with its true objects to arrest decline in Parsi population by taking effective measures to decrease death rate and increase birth rate in community. Instead distributing cash assistance Organization should provide good health and medical facilities to all the Parsis without any age limit. Organisation can tie up with any Government Insurance company for group health insurance policies in all the cities / towns where majority of Parsi people resides. Regards
One of the main reason for late or no marriages within Parsi community is about blind belief of horoscope matching. In our micro minority community it is very difficult to match it and it is not at all necessary in our religion. Our Zoroastrian religion is based on Righteousness and Truth. When these two principles are in our life no horoscope matching is required for good understanding between couples. So our Vada Dastoorjis and other community leaders should guide PARSIS to leave this blind belief of horoscope matching in special Seminars organized under banner and arrangement from Jiyo Parsi organization with coordination with Parsi Anjumans of Surat – Vadodara – Ahmedabad – Navsari – Valsad – Mumbai – Thane – Vasai – Dadar – Andheri etc. This efforts will surely result in early marriages within our micro minority Parsi community.
