The Gathas of Asho Zarathushtra – An Introduction
Dear Friends,
Shahenshahi Gatha days are from Aug. 11 – 15, 2023.
The last 5 days in the Zarathushti calendar are named in honor of the five Gathas. On these days, Zarathushtis faithfully recite the Gathas as their duty.
What are the Gathas? Are they mere literary compositions? What is the significance of these special days?
This year we shall publish a series on each of the five Gathas.
Before each Gatha day, we shall publish a post giving a synopsis of the Gatha – its central theme, summary of contents and significant stanzas. This will make praying the Gatha more meaningful.
