Norooz Persian Parade 2009

 

Location: Starts: 40th Street and Madison Ave Ends: 28th street and Madison Ave , Manhattan, New York

Date: Sunday, March 29th, 2009

 

PARADE RULES AND GUIDELINES:

 

1. All Parade participants must be present at the Parade’s place of origin no later than 9:30 a.m. on the date of the Parade.

2. Proper attire and dress is required. All groups must obtain written approval of their desired attire prior to the Parade.

3. The New York City Police Department, Department of Homeland Security and other security patrols will be helping us with safety issues. You must comply with any requests they may make of you for the safety of the other participants and viewers. The Parade will be mo nitored and under video surveillance.

4. All Parade participants and units must stay in their assigned order, unless specifically directed otherwise by a Parade official.

5. No material, object or item may be thrown to any crowd or viewer. Distribution of literature, canvassing and/or soliciting donations or contributions is also prohibited.

6. No person shall ride on the hood, roof, trunk or doorframes of vehicles. No person shall jump on or off of any vehicle.

7. No participant shall consume any alcoholic beverage or controlled substance prior to or during the Parade; use foul language; or argue with or refuse to follow the direction of a Parade volunteer. Any disobedience or misconduct will result in expulsion or other disciplinary action.

8. Please do not stop on the Parade route unless instructed to do so by a Parade volunteer. Please listen to all information and follow all directions of the volunteers. Please keep the separation distance between your group and the preceding group at a safe distance, but not so far as to slow the progress of the Parade.

9. There is no rain date for the Parade. The Persian Parade Day Committee reserves the right to cancel the Parade for inclement weather or any other public safety concern.
