So many people around the world want to know  “What is the net worth of Ratan Tata”?

TATA Group is running 96 businesses and out of which 28 Companies are publicly listed on the various stock exchanges.  Tata Group is world’s top 50 Group according to Market  capitalization and Reputation.
Have you ever thought of  why Ratan Tata’s name is not in  the list of   billionaire’s club? Why Ratan Tata is not a billionaire on the Forbes  magazine list of billionaire people of the world? The reason is that, TATA Group’s 96 companies are held by its main  Company “TATA Sons” and the main owner of this  TATA Sons is not Ratan  Tata but various charitable organizations developed and run  by TATA  Group  Out of which JRD TATA Trust & Sir Ratan Tata Trust are the main groups

65% ownership of TATA Sons which is the key holding company of the other 96 TATA Group Company is held by various charitable  organizations So this 65% ownership of Tata Sons Limited is not reflected  on Ratan Tata’s personal Financial Statement but on the  various  charitable organizations and this is the reason why Ratan  Tata is not in the list of Billionaire club.

If we put this 65% ownership of Tata Sons in Ratan Tata’s  own personal  financial statement then Ratan Tata’s Net worth can  become more than $70 billion and that’s much more than the Warren  Buffet’s Current Net  Worth of $ 62 billion, the world’s richest person  according to Forbes magazine 2008.   However, it doesn’t mean that Ratan Tata is poor In one of the interviews he had told the reporter that, “I  have my own Capital” He is the chairman of Tata Group so obviously  he earns lots of  money every year as a bonus, remuneration and salary. However, Ratan  Tata’s Net worth is not $ 1 Billion.  He is not a billionaire on paper but in reality he is the richest  person of the world His net worth in reality is more than Bill Gates  and Warren Buffet

So the good thing about Tata Group is that, They do Charity out of  their Money  And that is the reason TATA Group has generated so much of  Goodwill over last 5  generations

Also after bomb blast his response to his staff .Now knowing about this that due to charity his mame is not in list has increase more respect for him.hats off .

  • whether Sir Ratan Tata name appears in Billionaire magazines
Or not the billion of people know him, his work and charities.
Explanation given is understood. The magazines in their next issue
Should put his name with full explanation. we know the work of
Parsees in our countries so to me it’s matter of pride.
    Best wishes to community.

  • Shri Ratan Tata does not count in the worlds richest group as he does not squander public invested money and understands the value of the companies and nation. Tatas lives with ethics and honor.

  • Ratan Tata has continued the family tradition of leading from the front by putting their word where their mouth is. what a wonderful family to groom our Gen Next to emulate. God Bless them one & all. VS

  • Indeed proud of the GEM of an Indian Parsi Family, throbbing in its Fifth Generation as well — However, this is to lament, the Community’s State of Affairs TODAY — Who cares of the Diminishing Numbers of Parsi Jarthostis ? — The concern is the rock-bottom erosion of such AKAABAR Shethias, Philanthropists, who had far sighted Concern and Vision for the less fortunate Humans in the Community, as well as in the world. ——- Regards,

  • Wish Ratanji a long and healthy life. God has bestowed him with everything a human can desire. So, we common man can only pray to God for him.

  • In the History of Humans, Sir your Entire Family will be remembered by Good souls .
    Long live this Family.

  • Salute to this dignified, low-key & humble personality.
You, Sir, are a beacon for the less fortunate & striving people
May Almighty God Bless you a long Happy life, always.

  • Surojeet Chatterjee

He does charity on his employees & make them happy. He is the only businessman with ethics & never run for money and only for name of Tata as a brand. He is a generous person with big heart. I salute him and Jamshed ji Tata for making India what it is today. Otherwise we Indians would have been famous as snake charmers in world.

  • Gr8 Man 2 B revered.

  • Only one good soul in the country who does good to people with no cause Hats off sir.

  • In my opinion, he is undoubtedly the most respected Industrialist in India and abroad who is absolutely honest and believes in business ethics. May God bless him with long and happy life.

  • I agreed he is a Great Industrialist and not a BusinessMan.

  • You’re a great man because mony don’t make people great but a big heart makes people

  • Hoshang Charna

Now people should realise why the last chairman of TataSons had to leave. Because he was run of the mill business man. Did not gell with The Great Tata Philosophy nurtured by The doyen Jamsettji and carried forward by JRD. Getting a name on the list of rich persons of the world is of no consequence for TATAS.

  • Ratan Tata is a gem of our community n the whole community knows about it. But why there is a conflict going on? Why our community stay together? Not a single trust or companies of our community members without any conflicts

  • These facts should change our perception of richness. The House of Tatas has proved to the world that richness alone is of no avail. A human being had to be humane, helpful, honest, ethical & rich at HEART. Reaching out to others is RICHNESS.

  • Dhananjay Misal

He is great person in the world

  • faridabamgmailcom

He is the Defender of our Faith What do our “Pure Blooded Zoroastrians do?They are more interested in saving Atash Behrams & Agiaris which may not many Zoroastrians to to go to worship than fight to save our National Treasure Air India!
WOW that’s Parsee logic for you
