ZANC (Zarthoshti Association of Northern California) Visits Sacramento Dar-e-Mehr for a Special Community Outing

On Saturday, April 12th, about 40 members of the Zarthoshti Association of Northern California (ZANC) enjoyed a delightful trip to the Sacramento, California Dar-e-Mehr for a friendly meet-and-greet with fellow Zoroastrians from the Sacramento Zoroastrian Association (SZA).

The outing was filled with warmth, community spirit, and cultural connection. Upon arrival, ZANC members were graciously welcomed by Darius Captain and Cody Pashutanico, the founder and current president of SZA.

The morning began with lively games of Bingo, setting a joyful tone for the day. Guests were then taken on a fascinating tour of the community center, library, and the Dar-e-Mehr, which was inaugurated in March 2017. The pride and dedication of the Sacramento community were evident in every corner of the facility.

The highlight for many was the incredible hospitality shown by the ladies of SZA, who prepared a delicious array of homemade snacks and a hearty lunch. The spread included baked dishes, breads, Kheema, Persian rice, Aushe Mir, a variety of desserts, and more—ensuring that no one left hungry!

It was truly inspiring to witness how this small yet passionate Zoroastrian community has created such a meaningful space for future generations. The day was a perfect reminder of the strength of community and the shared values that unite us all.
