Khurshid Mistry wins the Mumbai Marathon
KHURSHID MISTRY AGAIN WINS THE MUMBAI MARATHON
Khurshid Mistry has now got another feather in her cap. This time she has won the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2013- Half Marathon under the Veteran Category which was held on January 20, 2013. She completed 21 kms in 1 hour 53 minutes and secured 3rd position under the Veteran category.
This is the second time consecutively she has won the Mumbai Marathon. Last year also she had secured 3rd position.
In November 2012 Khurshid had represented the State of Maharashtra for the Masters National Road Races and won 10 kms in 2nd position. She completed 10 kms in 50 minutes.
It is commendable how Khurshid consistently proves her mettle in Sprinting and Marathons – an achievement very few are able to manage.
She is basically a Sprinter who has won a number of accolades in 100 mts, 200mts and 400mts in various competitions in State, National and International level during the last five years. Since the past 2 years she has also started running the Marathon.
