The Zoroastrian Return to Roots Inaugural Tour
This tour will run from Dec 27th, 2013-Jan 8th, 2014.
The World Zoroastrian Congress will be held Dec 27th-Dec 30th.
After the Congress, Return to Roots’ participants will tour Zoroastrian Gujarat and Bombay, with world-renowned experts explaining the cultural, economic, and/or religious significance of the places being visited. Participants are expected to attend all days of the Program.
For the inaugural trip they are accepting applications from people between the ages of 25 and 35. However consider applying even if you fall outside of the suggested age range.
For the first trip, they are only taking Zoroastrians who live outside of India — holders of an Indian passport but living outside of India, are also eligible.
Please note that for this inaugural trip, since you will be visiting Agiaries and Atash Behrams in India. In deference to the rules in place at these religious institutions, all participants require to meet the following conditions:
1.All participants must be of patrilineal descent. This means your father must be Zoroastrian.
2.All participants must have had their navjotes performed by a recognized and ordained priest.
3.Participants cannot claim the faith of another religion in conjunction with Zoroastrianism.
In the short future, they will offer tours where you will not be visiting Agiaries and Atash Behrams. Anyone interested in learning more about the Zoroastrian community will be eligible to come on the future tours.
