Search for my elder Brother Sam and Nephew Vandad
I would be deeply obliged to you Sir for very kindly assisting me in my search for my Elder Brother Sam and his son Vandad.
Let me introduce myself my name is Osta Darius B. Solan Iam the youngest of the three brothers of our late parents Osta Bomanji and Meherbai populary known as Mehroo we all 3 brothers are born Karachietes Pakistan.
Sam my eldest brother was born in 1948 FROM 1972 UPTO 1982 he lived in Tehran Iran that is where his son Vandad was born, from there onwards he lived with us in Karachi for just 1 year only and in June 1983 he left us all for unknown destination with his son Vandad.
Parsi Zarthostis from India and Pakistan who lived during that time period in Tehran all know him, My family and I will be deeply obliged personally by putting up a notice in the The office of The Zorastrian Association of Metropolitan Washington office or a meeting hall or a Darbe meher requesting fellow Zorastrians to please inform me by e-mail the whereabouts of my brother Sam and his son Vandad who must be now 34 years old.
My Grandfather Osta Behramji slightly modified our family surname from SOLAINA TO SOLAN so Karachi Zarthostis know us as Solan’s we are tradationally Bagharia Priests from NAVSARI my son and my nephew from my second brother Maneck are ordained Navar Martab’s from Watcha Ghandi and Cama Baugh Adarians Bombay. Both our parents passed away without seeing him and his son.We have been told that he lives in Washington D.C where we don’t know but short distance away from his son Vandad so from 1983 upto the present we have no contact with him. We would all be deeply obliged to you and all fellow Zarthostis for helping me in finding out my brother.

This is Behram Irani , I live in Geneva Switzerland.
I knew Sam when he lived in Tehran in the seventies. and if I remember well he was married to a non Zoroastrian girl.
After the revolution in the early days after we had moved to Geneva I did see Sam in Geneva briefly. He did see me and recognised me but did not want to make contact. I did not get to meet him as he went into a store and I did not see him again. I tried to find out through Parsee fiends if they knew where he lived or if they knew him but found no answers.

Thank you for replying to my earnest request although Iam sorry I read your message after a very long time. Yes you are correct in stating that you saw my brother Sam in Geneva Switzerland, how I came to know of that recently we checked and came to know that Sam for a brief period in time was associated with a bank based in Geneva Switzerland by the name of Societte General. If you are still in Geneva than you may please contact the said Bank based in Geneva if it is still operative in Geneva because in Karachi and elsewhere in Pakistan. Societte General closed all its branches long time ago.
By the way do you recall the year you saw Sam in Geneva Switzerland.
Through this forum his Zorastrian friends from Tehran both Bombay based Parsis did establish contact with me one Dadi Khandadia who with his family is currently based in Sydney Australia
and another is Dali Malaowalla who with his family is based in Hercules Calafornia.
I remember when Sam was in Karachi with us Dali used to write letters to him that is how I remember his name.
Appx 10 years ago Sam accidently happened to meet a Parsi originally from Karach in Washington DCi some Darius Golwalla, who than inquired from his family his parents and Aunt in Karachi and they contacted us I met Darius’s parents who are residing in Cyrus Minwalla colony in Karachi later on his mother travelled to Maryland to visit her 2 sons based there. Upon her return I met her but she was absolutely tight lipped about any such brief meeting taking place b/w Sam and her son Darius. What happened I dont know but to date Iam still searching for my brother Sam and my nephew Vandad.
We as you might know are tradationally Zorastrian priests from NAVSARI belonging to BHAGARIA group or TOOLI as is popularly called in Gujrati and our ancestors had the honour and distinction of serving the IRANSHAH ATESH BEHRAM when it was in NAVSARI FOR ALMOST 375 years along with other priest famalies of NAVSARI.
I pray daily to Padshah saheb and invoking the blessings of Prophet Zarathustra, & my fore fathers the great DASTURAN DASTOOR NARIOUSANG DHAVEL MOBED SHAHPUR MOBED SHERYIAR to assist me in my direct and indirect efforts in my continued search for my brother Sam & Vandad, through like minded friends like you and any body else. Who is committed Zarthusti and understands my cause, and will assist me in my search for my brother. SAM
