Actually, there are no special rituals, most have been Adapted to Parsi style, taken from the Hindu Ritual for Grah Pravesh

(1) – MAATLI MUHARAT – (Generally Done before any Furniture is placed)

THINGS NEEDED:

(a) 1 small Matki, A bowl of sand, A new piece of Red/White cloth to bind the Matki. 4-5 Asopalav Leaves.

(b) 2-3 pieces each of Paan, Khaarak, Sopaari, Aakhi Badam, Saakar Akhi, Haldar Ganthiyo +1 new Nariel. In A Small Ses with Kanku Pigani, Gulabbas (With Rose Water), Paro, Divo.

(c) A Small bowl of wheat + some Rice for Vadhavva + Dhoop Danu, Rakhiya, Sukhad-Lobaan, Pieces of coal/ ready to use Dhoop+3-4 Agarbatti + Matchbox

(d) 1 Toran for the main door/other doors -1 small Garland for the Matki- I small Garland for the Divo

(e) Kharaptu Kanku. (To Make Kharaptu in a bowl take 1 Table Spoon of Wheat + Gram Flour + 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder + l//4 Teaspoon Kanku (Vermillion Powder). Mix all this with Water to Make a thick Batter.)

PROCEDURE:

(There is a Tradition of Placing the Matki by a Small Girl child, Daughter/ Niece/ Any relative. If Possible, Carrying it to the House by her)

(1) Clean the house (Jhadu-Potu) – Chalk Toran etc. Do Kharaptu Kanku on the Main Door side.

(2) Heap the sand at the Place where Matki is to be kept, keeping a little Hollow in the centre to ensure it remains stable. Make a Swastik sign on the Matki with Kanku.

(3) Fill a little water (1 Small Glass full) in the Matki, add the whole wheat inside. cover with the cloth. Arrange the Asopalav Leaves on Top. put the New Coconut on them Making a Swastik on it too

(4) Clean the kitchen platform, place The Ses on it, Light a Divo. Then Light the coal, place Sukhad Lobaan/ Ready to use Dhoop on the Dhoop Danu and take it around the house, bless the house and wish for peace, prosperity and harmony. Sprinkle the rose water all around.  Light the Agarbattis & Place them in all rooms etc.

Note: If Possible, Stay there for the whole Day, Sleep over at the New Home.

THINGS NEEDED:

(Mostly all items will be brought by the Ervad Saheb/s who are going to do the Jashan. He will tell you what things you need to have)

– Toran for the Main Door. Kharaptu Kanku. Ses With Paro, Kanku Pigani, Gualb bas. Few Rice for Vadahavva. Divo, Matchbox.

PROCEDURE:

(All the Procedure /Prayers will be done by the Ervad Saheb/s. You are just to provide things he asks for.)

After the Jahan is over many do Ovarna while throwing the rice for Vadhavva. Then One can Put Lobaan on it. (One Can Put the Fire in your Dhoop Danu afterwards.

Note: – While Leaving your Old home, if Possible, have a Jashan Ceremony Before leaving the House, Blessing it for whoever comes to stay there. Or at least Do a Small Divo & Light Agarbattis in the Room, before Leaving the Hose for good. (For it sustained You and your family. Many Happy events must have happened in your old House.)
