Appeal to Establish the FEZANA Mobed Endowment Fund

 

Honoring Those Who Sustain Our Faith

The Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA) invites you to join in creating the FEZANA Mobed Endowment Fund, a dedicated endowment with a goal of USD 1 million to support and strengthen the spiritual leadership of our community across North America.

Our Mobeds (priests) have guided generations of Zoroastrians through prayers, ceremonies, and life’s milestones. Their presence sustains our faith, connects our families to our heritage, and keeps the light of Zarathushtra’s teachings alive. Yet, many of our Mobeds serve voluntarily or with limited resources. This endowment seeks to provide a lasting foundation of support for those who so faithfully serve us.

 

Purpose of the Endowment

The FEZANA Mobed Endowment Fund will be established as a permanent endowment, with the principal invested under FEZANA’s financial policies.

The investment gains from this fund will be used to:

• Support critical welfare and medical assistance for Mobeds facing health or emergency challenges.

• Provide financial aid and general assistance to Mobeds and their families in need.

• Support research projects and collaborations with institutions such as FIRES (FEZANA Institute for Religious Education and Studies) to advance scholarly and community understanding of Zoroastrian practice and tradition.

The corpus will remain intact in perpetuity, ensuring long-term sustainability and continuity of this support.

 

Governance and Stewardship

The FEZANA Finance Committee will oversee the investment and management of the endowment corpus.

Appeals, evaluation, and disbursements will be administered by the FEZANA Unity and Welfare Committee, following transparent criteria and oversight procedures.

Annual reports on fund performance, allocations, and impact will be presented to the FEZANA Board and membership.

 

Named Endowments

Donors contributing USD 100,000 or more may establish named endowments in honor or memory of individuals, families, or organizations. These will be pooled within the FEZANA Mobeds Endowment Fund, creating a shared and enduring legacy of generosity while preserving donor recognition.
