India’s Companies Act: an Interview with Noshir Dadrawala

For the past year, the government of India has been trying to pass a revised set of corporate regulations, known as the Companies Act 2011. Among other things, the bill would make corporate social responsibility mandatory for Indian companies. In an email interview, Noshir Dadrawala, CEO of the Centre for the Advancement of Philanthropy based in Mumbai, discusses the bill, its ramifications and the public response.
