NPR named Iranian American composer Reza Vali’s concerto for ney (Persian flute) one of the top ten classical recordings of 2013. Hear the adventuresome Carpe Diem Quartet—which the Washington Post called “extraordinary”—perform Vali’s Calligraphy No. 12, for santur and strings, along with his latest set of folk songs.
The Freer and Sackler Galleries are accessible by Metro – Orange and Blue Lines at the Smithsonian Stop on the National Mall in Washington D.C.
