Jashan

JASHAN
(The Parsi Version)The word Jashan means an important occasion or an important event and the communal ceremony performed to commemorate or celebrate this occasion is also called Jashan. During this ceremony we praise Ahura Mazda and invoke the Amesha Spentas and the Fravashis.

Types of Jashans

 

  1. Zinderavan   :   This Jashan is performed at seasonal festivals such as Gahambars, auspicious occasions such  as birthdays and historical events such as  Meherigan.

 

  1. Rawan  :      This Jashan is performed to commemorate sad   historical events (Zarthost no Diso), death  anniversaries of family members and during   Mukhtad.
