Looking for details of Ardeshir Dhunjibhoy Patel

My great grandfather was Ardeshir Dhunjibhoy Patel born on 28 November 1887 in Bombay and I believe in the Gamadia colony. He was sadly orphaned at 1 year old and I think went to the Petit Parsi orphanage. He left India in 1917 for East Africa where he was a typist for the army. He married a Parsi lady in Zanzibar and had 2 sons, both of whom settled in the UK after world war 2. Ardeshir remained in Mombasa and lived an excellent long life until 106 years but sadly I did not meet him.

I am seeking any records of him, especially his birth certificate for our family records and wish to educate my own children on their Parsi ancestry. I wondered if you can help me please or direct me to anyone that could assist?

I travel to India often and have asked a few contacts in Mumbai to help if possible but sadly nothing yet and I do not think BMC hold the record I need. I hope to be in Mumbai within the next few months.

Yours sincerely
Katherine Parkin (born Katherine Ardeshir)
