Dear Friends,
The FEZANA Welfare and Critical Assistance Committee writes to you today with an earnest request to support one of our own, Zarine Bharda, who is facing an extraordinarily difficult chapter in her life.
Zarine’s journey is one that bridges our global Zoroastrian community. She grew up in London, Ontario, where she was an active and engaged member of the community from a young age. As a youth and young adult in North America, Zarine participated wholeheartedly in community life—building friendships, contributing her time and energy, and embodying the spirit of service that defines so many of our shared values.
Following her marriage to Ervad Dara Bharda of Udvada, India; Zarine made the meaningful transition to Udvada, where she has continued to live a life of purpose and contribution. She is known for her work as co-founder of the Clean & Green Udvada initiative, her teaching of yoga, and her unwavering commitment to supporting those around her. She carries with her the same warmth and generosity that many in North America remember so well.
Above all, Zarine is a devoted mother to four young children, always striving to provide them with love, stability, and opportunity.
Recently, on her 40th birthday, Zarine was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Since then, she has undergone multiple surgeries, with further treatment still ahead. This diagnosis has brought significant emotional, physical, and financial challenges—not only for Zarine, but for her entire family.
At this time, our collective support can make a meaningful difference. Contributions will help provide for:
-
Daily living needs for Zarine and her children
-
Ongoing medical treatment and recovery expenses
-
Travel between Canada and India to access care and family support
-
The ability for Zarine to spend meaningful, peaceful time with her children during her recovery
Zarine has spent her life giving selflessly to others—both in North America and in India. We now have the opportunity to come together as a global community to support her in return.
