British author seeking help on Aspy Engineer’s family
I am wondering whether you might be able to help me? I am a British author researching the history of the de Havilland Gypsy Moth aircraft.
One of the most superb stories connected with the aeroplane is that of Aspy Engineer who won the Aga Khan aviation Trophy in one in 1930. You have a summary of the story here: https://zoroastriansnet. files.wordpress.com/2012/06/ aspy-engineer.pdf
I am wondering whether you might be able to put me in touch with the family as I would like very much to read the unfinished memoirs mentioned in the article as I am sure it will be helpful for my book. I am planning for the story of Aspy Engineer to be its opening chapter.
I think that some of the great man’s family is still in Bombay, while others are in California.
With kind regards,
Alex Norman

I have passed this request to the Chief Public Relations Officer Defence at Mumbai and have apprised him of the requirement. He will in turn get in touch with Air HQ and get back. It will take some time but we should get some information.
Aspy was my uncle. I’ve just emailed Alex my contact info regarding any articles/write-ups on Aspi (from his brother, my father, the late, Homi Engineer) that may be of interest that I could forward.
