(Yasna 53) Vahishtoisht Gatha – Zarrir Bhandara

(Yasna 53) Vahishtoisht Gatha
Vahishtoisht literally translates to “the best wish”. In this Gatha Zarathushtra feels exhilerated that his mission is accomplished. Finally, he was able to transform ignorance to wisdom, hatred to love, and thus evil into good, which was his life long mission and the reason for his birth. He was able to achieve this through Asha or righteousness and the divine order. Also Ahura Mazda grants him total bliss through eternity.
Further, since this is Zarathushtra’s wedding blessing for his daughter Pauruchisti, he addresses marriagable men and maidens giving nuptial counsel. “Take them to heart and learn to imbibe them within your selves in earnest attention to the Life of Good Thought” Asho Zarathushtra advises. “Let each of you strive to excel with the other in Righteousness (Asha), for it will be a prize for the other”.
