Prof. Armaity Desai – Tribute by PARZOR

Dr. Armaity S. Desai passed away this morning.
She was 91 years.
Daughter of Shapur Desai who was one of the finest Trust Secretary that the Bombay Parsi Punchayet had.
Her brother Xerxes was Managing Director of Titan.
Armaity began her career as a lecturer and became Vice Principal and Principal of the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan (1957-82).
She was appointed Director of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) (1982-95), and later Chairperson, University Grants Commission (UGC) (1995-99).
She was an educationist who inspired many generations.
May her soul progress in the higher realms.
